I feel as though Anime heroines don't have the diversity the real world had to offer. Lately its like leading female roles are molded to fit a certain "Type". You know the ones, Tsundere, Dandere and Himedere ect ect. The more molds I find the less human these heroines feel. (Or at least to me anyway).
When I was younger Sailor Moon was my favorite anime. As a kid my all time favorite "Scout" was Jupiter because she was only one with brown hair and wore in a ponytail like me! So I gravitated toward her. But following the anime and overtime I realized that I was detaching from Jupiter and falling even more in love with Sailor Moon herself. Not because she was the strongest but because out of all the characters they showed her flaws much more. She was "Weak" in comparison of the others but yet she was their leader. In fact she was loved for her flaws.
More and more I realized how real Usagi was. She was someone you didn't have to aspire to be because chances were you were like her in one way shape or form. That's the kind of character development I miss.
So this character is dear to me. She represents my childhood desire to be that Magical Girl. Sailor Celestial Diamond.
